Favorable conditions converge

  1. 2700 km of coastline represents a high potential for tidal current energy.
  2. Our exposed west coast is subject to swells from the west on a regular basis and some sites are known worldwide for their great surfing.
  3. Winds originate mainly between the southwest and the northwest with forces of between 20 and 25 knots, especially in winter.
  4. To protect your investment, the physical quality of the resource but also the social acceptance of projects is essential.

Wishing for balancing the development of marine activities with other economic sectors shorelines we undertook the production of a coastal zoning. This zoning done in consultation with the authorities, local governments, representatives of fishermen and other economic activities, to allow the end of 2009 to have a precise mapping of sites dedicated to host the installation of demonstration units or production in the field of marine energy.
